Ben Roethlisberger has not met with the Steelers about restructuring his contract yet

The Pittsburgh Steelers were supposed to meet with Ben Roethlisberger this week from a report earlier this week by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. According to Gerry Dulac on Twitter, the Steelers have not met with Ben Roethlisberger yet. It could be because of the Maurkice Pouncey retirement news which may have pushed the meeting to happen this weekend or next week.

Ben's agent and the Steelers already began talking about restructuring his contract after the Browns game, but those talks were put on hold. Both sides wanted the emotions to clear before meeting together so they planned on meeting after the Super Bowl. Art Rooney II has been on the record saying if you look at the Steelers quarterback room they're going to have to add somebody to their room this offseason.

The announcement of Maurkice Pouncey retiring, Vance McDonald retiring, and the Steelers hiring a new offensive coordinator could make Ben Roethlisberger rethink his statement about coming back. The money would be the only reason for Ben Roethlisberger to come back and he has already made a ton of money with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is going to be very interesting what Ben and the Steelers come up with soon. If I was willing to bet I would be shocked if they could not come up with a restructured contract and Ben Roethlisberger will come back for another year. It would be shocking if Ben Roethlisberger decides to retire.
