The Pittsburgh Steelers walked into the 2020 playoffs at 12-4. At one point the Steelers were undefeated during the 2020 season, but that came crashing when they finished the 2020 season 1-6. They were eliminated in Wild Card Weekend to the Cleveland Browns. The biggest question after the game was if Ben Roethlisberger would retire? He was seen sitting on the bench in tears apologizing to Maurkice Pouncey. Ben was asked after the game if he was going to retire and he said the loss was still too fresh to decide about his future.
Well, news came from Adam Schefter today saying the 2020 season took a toll on Ben Roethlisberger, but many sources around Ben are saying he is having too much fun playing football. Ben Roethlisberger also likes the Steelers team too much to walk away from it after the 2020 season. This goes in line with Mike Garafolo's report about Ben Roethlisberger this afternoon. Sources are saying Ben Roethlisberger feels really good about his elbow. Many of the sources are saying they would be surprised if Ben walks away from the Steelers after the disappointing loss to the Browns.
Garafolo continued to say there is continued optimism that we have not seen the last of Ben Roethlisberger in the NFL and in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform. Many Steeler players were asking Ben after the game if he was done. Ben told them he still has to think about his future and did not give them a definitive answer. Many also feel the Steelers can lower the cap hit by extending Ben Roethlisberger. So it looks like Ben Roethlisberger will be returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021 unless there is a change in heart which is very unlikely according to sources from Adam Schefter.
