The Steelers are still currently looking for their third edge rusher to give Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt a breather from time to time. They currently have a few players who could plugin and fill that hole right now, but they're unproven in the NFL. Quincy Roche might be a name we hear a lot down the road if the Steelers do not opt to get another edge player through free agency. Another name Butler brought up this week is Cassius Marsh who saw the field from time to time in 2020.
Bleacher Report feels the Steelers should trade for Patriots Edge Chase Winovich who already has time on the field in the NFL. Not long ago many of the Steelers fans wanted the organization to draft Winovich. He was discussed quite a bit among Steeler fans in 2019. Bleacher feels the Steelers should trade a fourth-round pick for him during free agency this year which could be a good value for a player of need right now.
Winovich played 58 percent in New England, but only had 5.5 sacks for the second season in a row. Since the Patriots spent quite a bit of money during free agency this offseason to reset their roster they could be in the market to trade some players. Bleacher Report feels this is the type of low-cost move the Steelers are capable of making into a big win on the field given the unit Winovich would join.
