The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to need all the help they can get in regards to the running game in Pittsburgh. Finishing in the bottom 20 in the past 3 seasons is not common for an organization that loves to take pride in its physical running game. Art Rooney II said he would like to see the Steelers get back to the running game that we know and love during the 2021 offseason. So how could the Steelers get back to their old running ways in Pittsburgh?
Bleacher Report feels if the Steelers draft Najee Harris they can pair him up with Benny Snell Jr. and they both will become a potent running back duo in the NFL. They feel if Harris ends up taking a featured role in the backfield, the Steelers could see a dramatic improvement in their 32nd ranked ground attack.
Harris ranked third in the nation in rushing yards (1,466) and led the country in touchdowns (26). In his past two seasons with Alabama, he has had 70 receptions for 729 yards and 11 touchdowns. That is what makes Najee Harris so valuable is because he is very versatile by being able to line up in the backfield and as a wide receiver.
If the Steelers can manage to bring in Najee Harris Bleacher Report feels having two physical running backs can restore the Steeler's physical identity on the offensive side of the ball. Benny Snell Jr. showed flashes during his 2020 campaign and can produce if he has some help in the backfield. Expect Najee Harris to be the Steelers three-down back, but it would be a good idea to give Harris some relief by utilizing Benny Snell a bit more down the stretch.
