The Steelers have many free agents heading into the 2021 offseason. Dupree is one of their biggest free agents that could be an unrestricted free agent if the Steelers do not come to terms on a deal with him by March 17th. Dupree is looking to get paid big time this offseason and the Steelers will not be able to franchise tag him so they will have to negotiate with him to try and get him to stay in Pittsburgh.
Dupree says he plans to be a full participant in an NFL training camp based on positive feedback from his doctors. The Steelers have been pleased with his progress from his ACL tear in 2020. Dupree has been in constant contact with the Steelers two weeks before free agency begins on March 17th according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The Steelers would like to keep Bud Dupree but are having trouble with their cap situation. The expectation is that the Steelers will at least stay involved with Dupree as free agency approaches, even if they can't meet his market.
