Bud Dupree has complied 19.5 sacks in his last 27 games and was on his way to having double-digit sacks for a second consecutive year this past season until he suffered a torn ACL in the fourth quarter against the Ravens in Week 12.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported last week that Dupree expects to be ready for training camp. Recovery time for a torn ACL can sometimes be 10 months, but it appears that he is way ahead of schedule.
Dupree posted a video on Instagram today of himself pushing a sled with weights on it and it looks like he's progressing well in his recovery. The Kentucky product is currently training out in Arizona.
Dupree is set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 17 and it's unlikely that the Steelers will be able to re-sign him with around $6 million in salary-cap space. The highly-talented pass-rusher has a market value of around $18 million and the Steelers just won't be able to compete with that. The Titans, Colts, Lions and Patriots could be potential suitors for Dupree in free agency.
