Bud Dupree looks like he is having an exceptional rehab program during the offseason. He tore his ACL against the Ravens in 2020 and that was unfortunate because Dupree was on pace to have one of the best seasons of his career. Bud was definitely on track to becoming the Steeler's most improved player of the year until he went down with an injury.
The Steelers have been very pleased with Bud Dupree's progress from a rehab standpoint. Bud has been doing rehabilitation alongside Devin Bush throughout the offseason. Both are progressing extremely well. With a little under two weeks left until free agency Dupree has been in constant communication with the Steelers and the Steelers would like to bring him back.
The plan for the Steelers will be to keep contact with Bud Dupree even if he hits free agency. They will continue to stay involved with Bud while he looks at other teams' offers. The Steelers could potentially try and keep Dupree, but with the way their cap looks, it is almost impossible at this point from preventing him to become an unrestricted free agent in 2021. Dupree's plan is to be fully available by training camp and it would be up to the team he ends up playing for to limit him or not going into camp.
