Bud Dupree on Pittsburgh: 'Once they accept you in that city, they accept you forever'

Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree was on the NFL Network's Good Morning Football yesterday to discuss his recovery from an ACL tear, the Titans' addition of Julio Jones and his former team in the Steelers.

Dupree was drafted by the Steelers at 22nd overall in the 2015 NFL Draft and spent six seasons in Pittsburgh, recording 39.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles. After suffering a season-ending ACL injury in the Steelers' Week 12 win over the Ravens, Dupree became a free agent and signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Titans in March.

While Dupree is now in Nashville, he'll be forever grateful for the Steelers organization and the City of Pittsburgh.

“Those guys showed me nothing but love,” Dupree said. “Once they accept you in that city, they accept you forever. I’ve got a lot of great friends in that city. I’ve got a lot of great friends that are still on that team … All those people, they are my real people. At the end of the day, it ain’t nothing fake over there, man.”

Dupree's reunion game in Pittsburgh will come on Dec. 19, as the Titans will take on the Steelers in a Week 15 matchup.
