Late last night, Cam Sutton posted three cryptic messages. One was just a peace sign emoji in the bottom right corner and he followed in the next post by writing "Stay Tuned." This caused an instant uproar on social media as Steelers Nation was complexed by Sutton's posts.
Many thought the posts indicated that Sutton has been traded by the Steelers and he's moving on to a new team. The trade deadline after all is on Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. Shortly after making the original two posts, Sutton posted an OK hand signal emoji in the bottom right corner and wrote "yessirr." The three images of the posts by Sutton on Instagram last night can be seen below.
So, what does this all mean? Could the Steelers be looking to trade Sutton for an inside linebacker after Devin Bush's season-ending ACL injury? Who knows, really. It could be nothing football-related. So, I guess we'll just stay tuned as Sutton said.
Sutton is coming off a performance against the Titans on Sunday where he had four total tackles and two passes defended. This season, Sutton has eight total tackles (six solos), an interception, a sack and three passes defended. Since being drafted by the Steelers in the third round out of Tennessee in 2017, Sutton has recorded 51 total tackles (43 solos), three interceptions, two sacks, 12 passes defended, two tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits and a forced fumble. Sutton has started in just two games since 2017 and is an unrestricted free agent after this season.
