Ben Roethlisberger will be going into what could be his final season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger have decided to restructure their contract to a one-year deal going into the 2021 season. 2021 is going to be one of the Steeler's toughest schedules they have had in quite some time. They will be playing the Ravens, Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Packers, Vikings, Chargers, and the Bengals on the road in 2021. That is a tough schedule for Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers.
Ben Roethlisberger on restructuring his contract with the Steelers: "It is my greatest honor to be a Pittsburgh Steeler and give my all for this organization," said Roethlisberger, who will be entering his 18th season with the team. "I am grateful to be at this stage of my career and more than happy to adjust my contract in a way that best helps the team to address other players who are so vital to our success. I love this game and love to compete, and I believe in this team and my ability to deliver when called upon. It all starts with great preparation and I am ready to go."
CBS feels the Steelers are going to need a QB after Ben Roethlisberger retires and it's looking more and more like that retirement will likely come after the 2021 season. It is very unclear if Ben Roethlisberger will decide to retire after the 2021 season. It would depend on how the Steelers do going forward.
Ben Roethlisberger did get one key piece back in 2021 with the Steelers re-signing JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he lost one of his closest teammates (Maurkice Pouncey) after the 2020 season. It will be interesting to see what Ben Roethlisberger decides to do after the 2021 season, but in the meantime enjoy Ben Roethlisberger all you can before he decides to ride off into the sunset for good.
