Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool could possibly be out for Sunday's game against the Lions, as he's dealing with a toe injury. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, there was some fear that Claypool's injury was season-ending, but he's now considered week-to-week.
Tomlin said at his press conference yesterday that Claypool got an MRI on his toe.
With Claypool possibly out on Sunday, the Steelers will likely promote Anthony Miller to the 53-man roster. While unclear, Miller hinted that could be the case on Twitter yesterday.
The Steelers will need James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud to step up tremendously if Claypool can't go on Sunday. They will also need continued production from tight ends Pat Freiermuth and Zach Gentry. Freiermuth has been on a tear of late with three touchdown receptions in the last two games, all of which have come in the red zone.
