Chase Claypool has been all over the media throughout the offseason. The Rookie was making headlines during the season with a stellar rookie campaign. He finished the 2020 season with 62 receptions, 873 yards, 9 touchdowns, and averaged 14.3 yards.
Claypool on his first season with the Steelers: “Year 1 in the books, It’s been a hell of a ride full of obstacles and blessings. For the ones who have been in my corner throughout this journey, I truly do appreciate you and hope I can meet some of y’all next year. Until then, 11 out.”
You would think Claypool would be out, but he has been making news all over social media. He just signed a big deal with Jordan's Brand. He said it's super cool because the brand has limited sponsors and rarely signs Rookies. Chase says he is excited to do big things with the brand. Growing up he says he would always order fake Jordan's and now he is receiving them straight from the company.
Claypool plans on taking better care of his body in his second season: "I was always trying to get on the track of taking care of my body and asking the veterans what they do to take care of their bodies. Now that I have a good understanding of what it takes to keep your body in tiptop shape, I’m just going to be doing that earlier. I kind of started doing that midway through the season where I probably should have started that earlier."
Chase was recently asked what a year from now would look like following his 2021 season. He said it's going to be a big improvement from his rookie season and expects to make an impact as hopefully one of the top receivers in the NFL. He is looking to gain growth and maturity from his first season. It does look like big things are on the horizon for Chase Claypool, but will he be able to rise to the occasion to become the Steeler's number one wide receiver? Only time will tell.
