The Pittsburgh Steelers made a move today finally by bringing back defensive end Chris Wormley. The Steelers recently lost Tyson Alualu who signed back with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a two-year, $6 million dollar deal. It seems Alaualu wanted to go back where he started and the Steelers let him go.
Chris Wormley was brought back for $4.5 million dollars over two years. $2.2 million in 2021, including $1.2 million to sign. His cap hit will be $1.6 million this year according to Ian Whetstone on Twitter. Yes, the Steelers got a defensive end cheaper than Alualu, but it still will not help fill the void left from Tyson leaving. The Steelers will need to look at drafting another defensive end. The Steelers could also use Carlos Davis or Isaiah Buggs to help fill Alualu's void and get younger on the defensive line.
The Steelers are now $2.6 million dollars under the cap after the Chris Wormley deal.
