Could a Cornerback be on the Steeler's Radar in Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft?

With the unexpected departure of Steven Nelson, the Steelers now have another added need for their team. This time at cornerback. This is a position many Steelers fans remember killed some of our postseason chances. We remember guys like Ross Cockrell, Valentino Blake, Artie Burns, and a few other guys. These guys weren't horrible, they just didn't fit with what the Steelers were doing.

Then the tides turned when the Steelers brought in Joe Haden and Steven Nelson. These guys have been rock solid for the Steelers over the past few seasons. They haven't been immaculate, but they have been just good enough for us to get by.

The Steelers could look to go for a cornerback in Round 1 if they deem him the best overall player. That's the only scenario where I see that happening. I still don't trust the Steelers at drafting corners. I'd rather them stick to an Offensive Line player or a Running Back. I think we could sign a corner in Free Agency rather than the draft. They have better luck doing that.

I think now it is definitely on the Steeler's radar. Do I agree with it on Day 1? No, just because of our history. I'm personally pulling for the Steelers to select Najee Harris in Round 1. If he is not there then you should pick the best available player.
