Dwayne Haskins says Ben Roethlisberger was one of his favorite QB's growing up

Ben Roethlisberger is walking into his final season or seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He knows time is not on his side and that is very sad to see because has been with the Steelers franchise for 18 years after 2021. As we stand here today the Steeler's only option seems to be Mason Rudolph if Ben Roethlisberger decides to retire... That is if Dwayne Haskins does not work out in Pittsburgh during the offseason. After watching some of the videos of Haskins throwing today during OTAs he looked pretty impressive, but he did not have defenders coming at him from all sides of the football field.

Roethlisberger generally doesn't give compliments out to other quarterbacks on the Steelers. It also seems like he doesn't have a strong relationship with Mason Rudolph over the years. He does get along quite well with Josh Dobbs, but the Steelers have decided to bring in first-round quarterback Dwayne Haskins who looked awful during his time with the Washington Football Team, but it seems like Colbert and Tomlin feel he needed a change of scenery to help develop underneath a Hall of Famer like Ben Roethlisberger. So they decided to sign him to the minimum deal and let him show his worth during Training Camp.

After OTAs today Ben Roethlisberger complimented Dwayne Haskins by saying his throwing motion and mechanics are some of the prettiest he has seen on the football field. Ben ended up saying Haskins can throw a ball through a car wash and it wouldn't get wet. That is a very rare compliment coming from Ben Roethlisberger because he typically is very quiet about his quarterback room.

Is Ben Roethlisberger and Dwayne Haskins hitting it off during OTAs? It certainly looks like it because Haskins took to Twitter saying Ben was one of his favorite QB's growing up alongside Mike Vick. Haskins says he is the reason why he wore number 7.

If Haskins can show his worth during Training Camp and come out as a possible number 2 quarterback I would be very happy to see it because Mason Rudolph has had his shot with the Steelers and although he has a great deep ball he looked atrocious in the pocket. It would be great to see Haskins develop the right way in the Pittsburgh Steelers football system. Hopefully, he can shock the world and show up in a big way during training camp for the Steelers like the organization thinks he can.
