How can you blame James Washington for not being happy with the Steelers?

I can’t blame James Washington for being upset with the Steelers right now. Ray-Ray McCloud shouldn’t be getting snaps over him. McCloud was targeted eight times in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. That was the second-most on the team. McCloud had just four receptions for 25 yards.

I don't know why the Steelers are treating McCloud like he's a WR1. It's absolutely mind-boggling. Washington isn't all that either, but he's certainly a better receiver option than McCloud. Washington played just 22 snaps compared to McCloud's 45 snaps on offense. None of this makes sense.

Washington liked some tweets after the game that showcased he's not happy with the Steelers. Washington liked tweets that said, "I apologize for how the Steelers treated you. You deserve better" and another one that said "Free James Washington!" Washington has since unliked the tweets.

There were rumors back during the preseason and training camp that Washington wanted out because of his limited role in the offense. Washington said "that's a private conversation" when asked about it in August, which suggested that he did ask for a trade even thought Mike Tomlin said he didn't.

Washington is an unrestricted free agent after this season. I bet he can't wait to get out of Pittsburgh.
