James Conner should be able to go against the Broncos on Sunday

James Conner suffered a left ankle injury against the Giants on Monday night and left the game in the second quarter and did not return. Conner missed Wednesday's practice but has been a full participant at practice for the second consecutive day, according to Missi Matthews of Steelers.com.

Conner told reporters that his ankle is trending in the right direction. Given that he's practiced the past two days and there have been no signs of a setback in his recovery, Conner should be active for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

With Conner sidelined, Benny Snell Jr. gave the Steelers a spark on Monday night against the Giants, rushing for 113 yards on 19 carries and averaging 5.9 yards per carry. It will be interesting to see who will get the start against Denver on Sunday, but it wouldn't be surprising if Mike Tomlin went back to Conner if he is healthy.
