It sounds like the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to draft a running back in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft according to Gerry Dulac. The question becomes which running back do they deem to be their first pick? The Steelers are extremely unpredictable going into the NFL draft, but it seems like every draft analyst feels the Steelers will be drafting Najee Harris if he is available when the Steelers pick in the first round.
The Steelers did send the entire house to Harris's interview and the Steelers have not been shy with showing their interest during their pre-draft process, but could they settle for another running back if Najee Harris is not there for them? Jason La Canfora says Mike Tomlin loves Najee Harris, but he doesn't think Harris will be there by the time the Steelers pick in the first round.
The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have shown interest in Najee Harris and that is why La Canfora thinks Najee will not be there for the Steelers. He feels if the Steelers do end up taking a running back in the first round he says don't rule out Javonte Williams.
Jason La Canfora says the people he trusts in regards to the NFL draft have the Miami Dolphins taking Najee Harris with the number 18th pick in the 2021 NFL draft. So therefore the Steelers will have to settle with Javonte Williams by the time they pick.
