JuJu Smith-Schuster is back in Pittsburgh. That makes him once again, a decent player to have at the wide receiver spot in Fantasy Football leagues. As a Steelers fan, whenever a Steeler falls to my lap, I seem to always take them.
That has held true since back in 2014 when my Fantasy team consisted of Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, and Ben Roethlisberger. Listen, this sucked when they had a bye week, however, this team ended up winning me my first and only Fantasy Championship. (I suck)
According to Fantasy Pros, JuJu Smith-Schuster is in the Tier 5 Group of receivers. Also, it just happens that Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool are rated higher than him on this list. This makes sense, JuJu faces a ton of competition for catches on this team that could end up running the ball more than passing this season.
Still, I wouldn't be surprised if JuJu Smith-Schuster surpasses expectations and ends up having his best season yet with the Steelers. I just think the other emerging Steelers on his team will also help take a load off of his shoulders in regards to being covered.
Conclusion:
Let's put it this way, don't overreach for JuJu, don't go out of your way to draft him early, there are plenty of other players who should have more value for you in your Fantasy Drafts early on. However, if he falls to your lap, and the time is right, I would take him just because of his durability and production he could bring your team.
