The Pittsburgh Steelers saga with JuJu Smith-Schuster continues on social media. He has been very vocal lately about discussing a new contract with the Steelers, but it seems the Steelers have not been communicating with him. The Steelers have made it know they will not be franchise tagging any players in 2021 on Tuesday. The deadline was at 4 p.m. on Tuesday so that option is gone for JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The Steelers typically do not offer second-year contracts to wide-receivers. The last 3 wide-receivers the Steelers have offered a second contract with have been Antonio Brown, Hines Ward, and Mike Wallace. If you remember Mike Wallace rejected their $50 million dollar contract offer. So it looks like the Steelers feel JuJu Smith-Schuster is not worth WR1 money. If JuJu ends up on the open market some cap-friendly team will definitely overpay for JuJu Smith-Schusters services. It just won't be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On Instagram recently JuJu Smith-Schuster voted on a poll by host Kaitlin O'Toole. She asked fans if JuJu will stay in Pittsburgh. The options on the poll were "That's a negative" or "I hope so." JuJu was among the first five participants to vote for "That's a negative."
