JuJu Smith-Schuster still feels Ben Roethlisberger has something left in the tank

One of the biggest talking points among the national media was who will the Steelers be using once Ben Roethlisberger walks away from football? It seems the Steelers don't want to answer that question right now because they decided to re-sign Mason Rudolph to a one-year deal through 2022. So now Rudolph will be in Pittsburgh for two years now. It seems the Steelers will ride with Mason Rudolph if Ben Roethlisberger decides to retire because they did not take a quarterback in the 2021 NFL draft.

JuJu Smith-Schuster recently sat down with CBS Sports for a Q&A and was asked if he thinks Ben Roethlisberger still has a lot left in the tank? JuJu says he believes Ben still does. He feels a lot of people love to go off of the quarterback's age, but he's a guy who's been doing it at a high level for a very long time. He did say he would take Ben Roethlisberger over many NFL quarterbacks because he is an experienced veteran.

One thing JuJu did say is that when the Steelers lost Maurkice Pouncey and guys like Alejandro Villanueva it is tough to find leaders. Now JuJu thinks it will come down to David DeCastro and Ben Roethlisberger. JuJu feels he could be a leader, but he is still young so in a way Ben Roethlisberger is very important to the Steeler's offensive side of the ball.

JuJu is right the Steelers have backed themselves into a corner and the only quarterback who can win with the Steelers is Ben Roethlisberger so they really had no choice, but to bring him back in 2021. Now the Steelers will need to find a way to keep Ben Roethlisberger upright in 2021 because if Ben goes down the Steelers have no shot with Mason Rudolph.
