JuJu turned down the Chiefs, Ravens, and Eagles in Free Agency to stay with the Steelers

Yinzers around the world rejoiced yesterday when JuJu Smith-Schuster re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal. The only person who seems to still be punching the air right now is Mark Madden in regards to a JuJu Smith-Schuster return in Pittsburgh. Without a doubt, JuJu is one of the best slot receivers in the NFL. So I am not sure why anyone would be unhappy with JuJu Smith-Schuster returning to Pittsburgh?

According to Taylor Bisciotti, JuJu Smith-Schuster turned down the Kansas City Chiefs offer of $8 million dollars with $3 million in incentives. He also turned down the Baltimore Ravens offer of $9 million dollars with $4 million in incentives.

Adam Schefter reported JuJu Smith-Schuster's agent engaged with the Philadelphia Eagles who offered him a multi-year deal, but the Eagles didn't seem to want to court him. So JuJu Smith-Schuster turned down the Eagles offer. JuJu Smith-Schuster's agent was trying to get him to take more money (which is his job to do), but Smith-Schuster was adamant about staying in Pittsburgh.

Although the wide receiver market seemed dry in 2021 JuJu still remained adamant about staying in Pittsburgh throughout the process. He even received calls from Head Coach Andy Reid and Head Coach John Harbaugh. That did not sway his decision and ultimately JuJu decided to stay loyal to the City that drafted him.
