Mike Hilton: "This year I'm free and can absolutely choose where I want to go"

The Pittsburgh Steelers have only made a few moves with 8 days left until free agency. The Steelers have a ton of free agents that could be hitting the open market soon. One of those players is the underrated and often overlooked Mike Hilton. The 3 biggest players I feel the Steelers need to try and sign the most are Tyson Alualu, Cam Sutton, and Mike Hilton because they bring value for much less than players like Bud Dupree and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

It will not be impossible for the Steelers to lock up Hilton this offseason, but they will have to pay him this time for his services. Teams like the 49ers who have the cap room to make moves for Hilton will make it much harder for the Steelers to retain Mike.

Mike Hilton on Free Agency: "This year I'm free and can absolutely choose where I want to go. It's exciting. I know how hard I've been working for this opportunity said Hilton. Being in this situation, coming from being an undrafted guy to possibly having a nice free agency this offseason, I'm blessed to be in this position."

It sounds like Mike Hilton is looking forward to being on the open market in 8 days. Just yesterday he took to Instagram and said 9 days...

Mike Hilton on the Rooney's: From top to bottom starting with the Rooneys, it starts with them and trickles down. Everybody knows when you become a Pittsburgh Steeler, it means much more. It's all about winning and getting that Vince Lombardi Trophy. Their culture is second to none. I've enjoyed my last four years here. If possible, I'd love to be back. We'll see in the next couple of days."

Pro Football Focus recently said Mike Hilton's market value is a three-year contract worth $12 million dollars. That fits right with the 49ers cap room. If San Francisco chooses to go after Mike Hilton that will complicate things for the Steelers in the offseason. It sounds like Hilton is seriously ready to test the waters in free agency and if the Steelers don't pay up he will be gone in 2021.
