Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert have gone to the Clemson, Georgia and Auburn pro day in the past weeks, and now they're at the Florida State pro day today, according to the executive director of the Reese's Senior Bowl Jim Nagy. Steelers defensive line coach Karl Dunbar was in Tallahassee as well.
Safety Hamsah Nasirildeen, edge rusher Janarius Robinson, defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., edge rusher Josh Kaindoh and wide receiver Tamorrion Terry are the Florida State players that are working out in front of NFL talent evaluators in Tallahassee.
The Steelers could be in line to draft a cornerback high in this year's draft with Joe Haden turning 32 next month and Steven Nelson requesting to be traded. Samuel would be a great fit in the second round. Former Steelers cornerback and Florida State product Bryant McFadden thinks Samuel will make an impact like his dad Asante Samuel Sr., who was a two-time Super Bowl champion, four-time Pro Bowler and twice named second-team All-Pro. McFadden also wouldn't be surprised if Samuel is a first-round pick.
McFadden says Samuel reminds him a lot of Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander with how he plays bigger than his size and with a lot of heart.
