NFL.com predicts Mike Hilton will sign with the 49ers in the 2021 offseason

Mike Hilton will be one of the most underrated players coming into free agency this season. Several players will be talked about before Mike Hilton and Cam Sutton, but none will be as important for the Steelers to try and keep than those two players. The reason why both are important for the Steelers to keep both players is that they can retain Hilton and Sutton for the price of a Bud Dupree and get more out of both players. That is not taking away from the talent Bud Dupree has it is just business.

Nick Shook of NFL.com has predicted Mike Hilton will land with the 49ers in the 2021 offseason. That would hurt if Hilton left the Pittsburgh Steelers, but after last season it looks like Hilton will get paid. Shook says the 49ers are going to say goodbye to Richard Sherman and likely Jason Verrett, and they also need to get younger at the position. Nick feels Hilton will be an excellent fit in the 49ers' defense. With around $12.5 million in cap space, San Francisco has the funds to make this happen and shore up its secondary in the process.
