The rumors have been swirling all day long about what the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to do in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. One thing that is clear so far barring any unforeseen events heading into the 2021 NFL draft is that the Steelers want a premier running back. The Steelers are very high on Najee Harris and Travis Etienne. If Najee Harris is there by the time the Steelers pick Gerry Dulac says the Steelers will be taking him.
NFL Network's Peter Schrager said in his final mock draft that he thinks the Pittsburgh Steelers will trade up in the NFL draft and take Najee Harris. Peter says there is a lot of buzz that the Jets will potentially take a running back so the Steelers will give a fourth-round pick to the Titans and move up two spots ahead of the Jets to secure Harris.
With that being said Kevin Colbert was clear that the Steelers doubt they will trade up in the 2021 NFL draft, but that still doesn't mean they won't. There hasn't been a sense so far that the Steelers plan on trading up, but Dulac has been it clear the number one target for the Pittsburgh Steelers is Najee Harris. I am guaranteeing if the Steelers do not trade ahead of the Dolphins or Jets that the road to Najee Harris will run through Miami or New York.
