It looks like Ben Roethlisberger could be coming back to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. The Steelers are still negotiating with Ben Roethlisberger as we speak. So nothing is final just yet, but he looks almost guaranteed to come back. There will be much debate on where Ben Roethlisberger should be ranked coming into the 2021 season, but I would temper those debates until seeing what the Pittsburgh Steelers decide to do during the 2021 offseason and the draft.
NFL Network recently spoke about ranking the AFC North quarterbacks heading into the 2021 season. Willie McGinest and LaDainian Tomilson gave their opinions on why they ranked the AFC North quarterbacks where they did. They both have Lamar Jackson as the best QB in the AFC North. Followed by Baker Mayfield, Ben Roethlisberger, and Joe Burrow.
Willie says he is not taking anything away from Ben because he has been in the league for 18 years. He says Lamar Jackson is special and he put Baker in front of Ben because of Baker's progression in recent years. McGinest sees Baker getting better and Ben fighting father time with his skills diminishing a little bit.
Tomlison says it's not how you start in the NFL, but it's how you finish. We have seen Ben play in sputs well throughout the 2020 season. He started out hot, but he didn't finish so well at the end of the 2020 season. Tomlison says Ben looked beat up and old toward the end of the 2020 season. With Baker, he improved the entire season and was consistent who had a grasp on Stefanski's offense. Lamar Jackson won his first playoff game in the NFL and played his best football down the stretch said, Tomlinson. They ended the segment by saying Joe Burrow having a 65% completion rating is very impressive.
