For the fourth year in a row, Pittsburgh ranked as the best football city in America, according to Wallethub via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
In their 2022 Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans, WalletHub ranked 245 U.S. spots into three categories — large, midsize and small. A large city is one with more than 300,000 residents. For midsize cities, it’s from 100,000 to 300,000 residents and small is less than 100,000.
Along with being the No. 1 ranked pro football city, Pittsburgh was named the seventh-best college football town. Tuscaloosa, Ala. was the No. 1 college town.
Wallethub considered factors such as number of teams, average ticket prices and fan friendliness. Each entry was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 being the most favorable conditions for football fans.
Behind Pittsburgh were Dallas and Green Bay in regards to pro football cities.
Wallethub also had the Steelers ranked with the fourth-best accessible stadium in the NFL behind the Cardinals, Bills and Packers. The Steelers were also tied with the Packers for having the most engaged fans.
