The Steelers were on pace to break their franchise sack record against the Browns. Before they went into Week 17 they had 52 sacks. Today they recorded 4 more sacks. It's a shame they couldn't just get one more sack to break their single-season franchise sack record. Alex Highsmith, Chris Wormley, Jayrone Elliott, and Stephon Tuitt all had sacks against the Browns.
The Steelers have recorded 50+ sacks in 4 consecutive seasons. That makes the Steelers the only team over the last 30 years to have 50+ sacks in 4 consecutive seasons. That is an incredible statistic to be proud of for Keith Butler's Steelers Defense. TJ Watt was also on par to break James Harrison's Single-Season Franchise Sack Record, but Mike Tomlin did not allow him to travel to Cleveland. Tomlin gave him much needed rest heading into the Playoffs against the Browns at Heinz Field.
