The Steelers were back at practice today at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side in preparation for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns.
Strong safety Terrell Edmunds (shoulder) missed practice for the second straight day and kicker Chris Boswell (groin) was out after being a full participant on Wednesday. Boswell's was inactive against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt (back) and Tyson Alualu (ankle) returned to practice after being out yesterday. Linebackers Marcus Allen (stinger) and Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) were out for the Colts game and were full participants for the second consecutive day.
It was reported earlier today by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that in addition to Ben Roethlisberger being held out of Sunday's game, outside linebacker T.J. Watt, center Maurkice Pouncey and defensive tackle Cam Heyward will also not play against the Browns.
Roethlisberger, Watt and Pouncey did not practice today, but Heyward and DeCastro returned to practice after having a veteran's day off yesterday.
The Browns are dealing with a COVID-19 situation right now and their facility was shut down today. The Browns announced this afternoon that they've placed linebacker Malcolm Smith and cornerback Denzel Ward on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Both Smith and Ward will be out for Sunday's game, but both reportedly tested positive, so they could possibly miss a playoff game if the Browns were to make the postseason.
Cleveland also activated wide receiver Rashard Higgins, wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and linebacker Jacob Phillips from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
