The Steelers had a strong showing today for their first mandatory minicamp practice -- 89 of 90 players were in attendance -- Stephon Tuitt was an excused absence for a tragic death in his family.

Tuitt's brother, Richard Bartlett III, 23, was killed in a hit-and-run on a busy stretch of McGinnis Ferry Road in Johns Creek, an Atlanta suburb, just after 9:30 p.m. on June 2, Capt. Todd Hood of the local police department told WGCL-TV.

"Everyone knows the personal circumstance that Stephon Tuitt and his family is going through," Tomlin said. "He has our full support, and our hearts go out to him and his loved ones for their loss."
