The Steelers brass of Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert were at the Georgia pro day on Wednesday to see the plethora of future NFL prospects. Along with Tomlin and Colbert, senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach Brian Flores and wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson are also in attendance.
Defensive tackle Jordan Davis is one of many elite players from Georgia in this year's draft. Davis, who stands at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds, displayed freakish athleticism at the NFL Scouting Combine with posting a 4.78 in the 40-yard dash. With his impressive Combine performance, Tomlin doesn't see Davis being available at 20th overall.
"I doubt it, Tomlin said in an interview on the SEC Network. "I think he'll be hugging Roger Goodell before then."
However, Tomlin noted that he's in the "Jordan Davis camp regardless."
Check out the athleticism and movement from Davis in the clip below.
With Tomlin observing, Jackson also put George Pickens through some wide receiver drills at the pro day.
Georgia could possibly have as many as 10 players selected in the first three rounds of the draft. Along with Davis, defensive end Travon Walker, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt and inside linebacker Nakobe Dean are projected to go in the first round. Inside linebacker Quay Walker should be a high second round pick, likewise for Pickens.
According to Kris Rhim of the Falcons, Dean met with the Steelers.
