Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network did a Q&A yesterday and was asked if the Steelers and Dolphins are still very interested in Alabama running back Najee Harris as he reported during the Senior Bowl.
Pauline responded with the following: "Yes — as of the other day, I was told both teams still rank Najee Harris highly and are considering selecting him in the first round. The other team that has also moved into the mix in the Harris sweepstakes? The Buffalo Bills, from the information I received."
Pauline also said in another question that he was told Harris will workout at the second Alabama pro day on March 30. In addition, Pauline stated that Harris is rounding into top shape after the ankle injury he suffered in the semifinal game against Notre Dame.
Harris would be an ideal feature back in the Steelers' offense, as they need a true bell-cow to help carry the load off of the 39-year-old Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers ranked dead last in rushing yards per game (84.4) and yards per carry (3.6) in 2020 and Roethlisberger had 608 pass attempts, which was the third-most in the league.
