Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network said on 93.7 The Fan on Monday that there is “still an offer on the table” from the Steelers for free agent strong safety Terrell Edmunds. Kinkhabwala said Edmunds has multiple offers from other teams that he is considering and may not be all that interested in the Steelers proposal financially. It's unclear of which other teams ere expressing interest.

Colbert mentioned last week when speaking with reporters that he believes the Steelers currently have starting-caliber players for 24 of 25 positions. The lone vacancy is at strong safety, as the Edmunds situation is still up in the air. According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are not going to chase Edmunds with contract offers. So, it's really in his hands on what he wants to do. Edmunds had a tweet last week where he said "decisions."

If Edmunds decides to sign elsewhere, Tyrann Mathieu could be an option. Mathieu even revealed on the "Jordy Culotta Show" last week that he has talked with Mike Tomlin on the phone.

“I still try to enjoy the process,” Mathieu said about being a free agent for the third time. “It’s still cool talking to all coaches, the different coaches, because some of these guys, I’m fans of. Mike Tomlin calling your phone like, ‘Hey, yo, it’s Mike T.’ Just being able to talk with these guys, it’s a blessing.”

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Mathieu visited with the Saints at the team facility on Tuesday while he’s in New Orleans with family and friends. Rapoport noted that the visit was nothing imminent. The Saints are reportedly among nine teams who are interested in the three-time All-Pro.
