Steelers should take a long look at Trey Lance

After Ben Roethlisberger is gone, the future looks very bleak for the Steelers. Picking up a Quarterback such as Trey Lance would be huge for this team. In 2019, he had a historic season where he threw for 28 touchdowns and no interceptions. Just doing that in 2019 will make him a very rich man in the NFL when he gets drafted. He will most likely go in Round 1

Unfortunately, we did not get to see him play in the 2020 season. However, the potential is there from that 2019 season as mentioned above. He also can use his legs. A player like Lance will fit well in Matt Canada’s offense if the Steelers choose to go that route. If not, any bright-minded offensive coordinator would have a field day with Lance. On the ground, Lance had 1,100 yards and 14 Touchdowns with an average of 6.5 yards per carry.

As Steelers’ fans, we all know the future is very uncertain. We have three Heisman winning Quarterbacks in our division. We have a very big challenge ahead of us. If the Steelers want to be able to compete with these other teams, they will need to start looking for a QB in the draft or in Free-Agency who can be the guy to compete with these very talented Quarterbacks.

If there is a certain way to get Lance, maybe it is time the Steelers make the move and scoop up the talented Quarterback out of North Dakota State and begin to groom him to be the Heir Apparent to Ben Roethlisberger. It is time. Here We Go!
