T.J. Watt announced on Twitter today that he's completed his offseason training in Wisconsin with his longtime trainer Brad Arnett, and is off to Pittsburgh for training camp, which begins on Thursday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
Arnett trains all three Watt brothers at his Pewaukee area gym and has been training them since they've been in high school. To no surprise, both T.J. and J.J. look like they're in top-notch shape as they head into training camp. What's so impressive about the two Watt brothers is their genetic build-up of how long their arms are and the size of their hands. But without a doubt, they put some serious work in with Arnett. And the results are proven.
Look at the transformation in Watt's body from when he was at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine to now.
Last night on Twitter, Watt also posted a picture of himself and the defense and captioned the post, "Coming Soon ..." Watt will be looking to build off his 2020 campaign where he led the NFL in sacks (15), tackles for a loss (23) and quarterback hits (41). Despite leading the league in three major defensive statistics, Watt finished second in voting for Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press, as the award was given to Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald instead.
It should be interesting to see what Watt displays in Year 5. To win DPOY, he might just have to reach the 20 sacks mark.
