The Texans are looking for a new head coach after they fired David Culley on Thursday. And a former Steelers great could possibly be the next headman in Houston. The Texans announced on Saturday that they've interviewed Hines Ward on for the vacant head coach position. The Texans also interviewed Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi.
It's pretty surprising that Ward's being considered by the Texans to be their head coach, as Ward has little experience and was an offensive assistant and wide receivers coach with the Jets from 2019-2020. Ward is currently the special assistant to the head coach and wide receivers coach at Florida Atlantic.
It would be shocking if Ward is a final candidate or is selected as the new Texans head coach. The Texans interviewed former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores on Friday. Flores was fired by Miami on Monday.
