Who would have thought JuJu Smith-Schuster would be sitting on the open market 4 days after the tampering phase of free agency opened up? I never thought Keelan Cole would be signed before JuJu Smith-Schuster. Did JuJu's agent overestimate his value going into free agency and lost his client's opportunity to sign with another football team? It just seems odd that JuJu is still sitting on the open market with very little news other than the Jets and Steelers have interest in him.
It seems like many NFL teams have been signing wide receivers except Kenny Golladay and JuJu Smith-Schuster. That is two of the top wide receivers heading into free agency. Either JuJu is waiting for Golladay to make his move or teams just aren't interested in overpaying for JuJu. Regardless the longer JuJu Smith-Schuster stays on the market the more likely he will return to Pittsburgh.
The reason he could return to Pittsburgh is that the market has already shrunk due to the cap situation and the longer it takes for him to sign the fewer options will become available to him. If the Steelers can get him to agree to an under-market deal then that would be the best option for the organization. They cannot afford to overpay him at this point. The Steelers are still communicating with JuJu Smith-Schuster so there is a possibility he could return to the Pittsburgh Steelers if he continues to sit on the market.
