The Pittsburgh Steelers will not be using the Franchise Tag on any of their Players in 2021

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be heading into the offseason in 8 days. The Steelers have told Bud Dupree they will not be using the franchise tag on him before free agency opens up. That was to be expected because they are hurting in regards to the cap. Dupree is going to command quite a bit on the open market and he should take the biggest bag a team can offer him and run with it. Alex Highsmith will be the next man up in Pittsburgh but expect them to still make moves in regards to the edge position because Watt and Highsmith will need help.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will not be using the franchise tag on any of their players according to Dianna Russini of ESPN. This comes as no surprise due to the cap situation in Pittsburgh. It is better if the Steelers hold tight for right now and take the hits because it will help them overcome their cap issues in the future. In 2022 they will look much better than where they're sitting now in regards to the cap. Steeler fans just need to buckle up and take on the bumpy ride this offseason because the Steeler's future will look up if they don't overpay this offseason. TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Devin Bush, a running back, fixing the offensive line, and getting a quarterback of the future should be the focus for the Steelers going forward.
