The Steelers still have Interest in bringing JuJu Smith-Schuster back

It's very hard to gauge what is going on with JuJu Smith-Schuster in recent days. He was considered one of the top wide receivers to go into free agency, but it seems the wide receivers are not getting as much attention as they would like. The reason is the draft is loaded with good wide receivers and it would be cheaper to get a wide receiver in the draft rather than pay one in the open market.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still showing interest in keeping JuJu Smith-Schuster in Pittsburgh according to Rapoport. The Jets are also talking to JuJu Smith-Schuster and they have more cap to offer him than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rapoport also says JuJu's market has picked up in the last day or so. That means teams are starting to show a lot more interest and I would expect him to get plenty of attention once WR Kenny Golladay comes off of the board.

JuJu Smith-Schusters market was slow to develop and it is not surprising because the market is diminished while the draft has top wide receivers who are just as good for a cheaper price. The biggest development in Rapoport's news is the Steelers are continuing to maintain conversations with JuJu Smith-Schuster. It would be a good idea if JuJu were to take a one-year deal do it with the Pittsburgh Steelers because he knows how his value looks in Pittsburgh rather than a different market. That could help him show his worth on another contract year in Pittsburgh. It would also give the Steelers the opportunity to sign him to a longer deal once their cap issues are over with in 2021.
