On March 13, the Steelers decided to not tender restricted free agent Ola Adeniyi due to being up against the salary-cap. The move made Adeniyi set to be an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any team that would want his services.
Adeniyi has now found that team and will join Bud Dupree in Nashville. It was announced today that Adeniyi signed a one-year contract with the Titans, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who was told by Adeniyi's agent Erik Burkhardt.
Adeniyi was solid on special teams, but he never stood out as a pass rusher when it came to regular-season games. He would put on strong performances in the preseason, but he just couldn't put it together when the games mattered.
With Adeniyi's departure, the Steelers definitely need to look for a No. 3 outside linebacker in free agency or the draft to give relief to T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith when they need a break.
The Steelers play the Titans at Heinz Field in 2021. The schedule release is expected to be in mid-May this year.
