Tony Pauline says the Steelers feel Ohio State RB Trey Sermon is a perfect fit for their system

One name many draft analysts haven't talked about is Ohio State running back Trey Sermon. That was until today. Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline says if the Steelers miss out on Najee Harris in the first round and decide to go with an offensive lineman instead, then Trey Sermon would be next on their list. This is shocking news because I believe Travis Etienne and Javonte Williams should be well above Trey Sermon.

Would the Steelers really take Trey Sermon over Travis Etienne and Javonte Williams? I wouldn't believe it until I see it and I would be absolutely shocked if they did. Unless they want to get an offensive lineman in the first round and the Steelers know they have no shot at Etienne or Williams by the time they select in the second round then it would make sense to get Sermon in the second round, but if Williams and Etienne are there and they pick Sermon over those two running backs then I would very disappointed as I feel the 3 best running backs in the 2021 NFL draft are Najee Harris, Travis Etienne, or Javonte Williams.

Some in the Steelers organization feel Trey Sermon's playing style is similar to a young Le'Veon Bell. Hence, if they go offensive line on Day 1, Sermon could be the running back they select on Day 2 says, Pauline. This is the first time I have heard a connection between Sermon and the Steelers, but it would not be surprising if the Steelers picked an Ohio State player. The organization seems to be in love with Ohio State's Football Product they put on the field each year. This makes things even more interesting heading into the 2021 NFL draft.
