Alejandro Villanueva still remains unsigned. However, we have heard of numerous reports that he has either put his house up for sale, or he has not put it up for sale? So, I'm personally not too sure what's happening with him.
If the Steelers were interested in bringing him back, personally, I think they would've done that already. So, I think it's safe to say he either ends up in another uniform and makes some good money. However, once again, it feels like those cap sites, such as spotrac and overthecap were vastly overestimating his value.
Personally, I don't think he's worth the money having to spend to bring him back for another year. I think we should invest highly in the Draft and end up with hopefully a better performing player and less of a cap hit.
Al's story is amazing. Honestly, still wouldn't be surprised if he ends back up in Pittsburgh. However, I think it's best for both parties if he and the Steelers go their separate ways. However, I do not know where he would end up if he ends up leaving. Could he retire? Or will he find another team to try to get to the Super Bowl? That remains to be seen.
